My Heart Followed After My Eyes

Turn out the cabin lights.
Give the lad a telescope
I was to not let our position, be disclosed

But when the lights went out
I felt the wind offering doubt
It buttered the bread of my loneliness

Through my telescope I saw
An elegant ship of vagabonds
And my heart followed after my eyes

I’m stuck in the middle of the ocean
And my fear is crashing, like the waves all around
I’ve had some bad ideas in the past
But this is by far the worst, this is by far the worst.

If only I, if only I, behaved better.

I don’t know what to do anymore,
I’ve sailed past those who’ve warned
I’m out of the food that I’ve stored
I can hardly see the shore,

I returned to see my Captain slaughtered
His ship in flames,
I just have one final question:
What do I do now?

Sing us all a new song.
